Asia-Pacific markets fell broadly on Tuesday, after Donald Trump said that he “doesn’t care if they are over, honestly," in reference to Iran peace talks. The comment sent a chill through a region that had only just started pricing in a diplomatic resolution.

Japan's Nikkei 225 declined o.3% to 66,734, while South Korea's Kospi fell 1.1%. However, the index pared its earlier losses and rose 0.1% to 8,801. In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 closed flat at 8,716. Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded in green at 2.1% to 25,944, while Shanghai Composite was up 0.5% to 4078.

On Wall Street, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at fresh records on Monday to kick off June, driven by a powerful surge in technology stocks. The S&P 500 advanced 0.2% to close at 7,599, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.4% to close above 27,000 for the first time at 27,086. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.1% to end at 51,078.

Anthropic Confidentially Files For IPO

Anthropic, the AI company behind the Claude chatbot, filed confidentially for a US initial public offering on Monday.

The company said "the number of shares to be offered and the price have not yet been set," adding that the proposed listing will depend on market conditions.

Alphabet Plans $80-Billion Stock Raise To Fund AI Buildout

Google parent Alphabet announced it plans to raise $80 billion by selling stock, calling it necessary to meet "unprecedented customer demand" for AI that is already exceeding the company's available supply. The raise includes a $10 billion investment from Berkshire Hathaway, a vote of confidence from new CEO Greg Abel in Alphabet's AI trajectory.

Blackstone Closes Its Largest-Ever Asia Private Equity Fund At $13.1 Billion

Blackstone announced the final close of Blackstone Capital Partners Asia III at $13.1 billion, exceeding its original $10 billion target and raising more than double the amount of its predecessor vehicle.

HPE Posts Record Quarter, Stock Jumps 29% After Hours

Hewlett Packard Enterprise delivered a blowout second quarter, posting revenue of $10.7 billion, up 40% year-on-year, and earnings per share of $0.79, compared to Wall Street estimates of $0.53. CEO Antonio Neri called it "an exceptional quarter with record-breaking revenue, higher-than-anticipated profitability, and increased free cash flow."

FedEx Freight debuts as standalone company

FedEx Freight began trading as a standalone public company on Monday after completing its spinoff from FedEx. CEO John Smith announced that the separation would allow the business to "leapfrog the competitors" in the less-than-truckload shipping market.

Singapore Builds AI Agent Registry For 150,000 Public Officers

Singapore is developing a registry of AI agents for its 150,000 public officers as part of a broader national push to embed AI automation across government work. The AI Assistant Desk platform, which is currently in test mode, is designed to let officers safely use third-party AI tools without compromising data security.
