Space Analytics Firm HawkEye 360 Makes Stellar NYSE Debut, Hits $3.15-Billion Valuation

HawkEye's $3 Billion Debut

Space analytics company HawkEye 360 made a strong debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Thursday, May 7, achieving a valuation of $3.15 billion as investor appetite for defence-related technology offerings continued to stay strong.

The company’s shares surged 30% after listing, opening at $33.80 compared with the IPO price of $26 per share.

The Herndon, Virginia-based company had raised $416 million in its US initial public offering a day earlier. HawkEye sold 16 million shares at the top end of its marketed range of $24 to $26 per share.

Defence-Tech IPOs Continue To Draw Interest

HawkEye’s successful listing shows the growing demand for defence and national security-focused companies in public markets.

Edward Best, partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher, said that the company’s pricing at the top of the marketed range reflected strong investor appetite for defence-related IPOs. He added that defence spending is expected to grow in the coming years.

Why It Matters

HawkEye’s debut comes amid signs of renewed momentum in the IPO market following a strong April. HawkEye 360 and consumer brand Suja Life are both being closely watched as tests of investor demand across different sectors.

The listing is also seen as an indicator of market appetite for space-technology companies, particularly as investors await a potential public filing from SpaceX. This in turn could encourage more companies in the sector to pursue public listings and access equity markets.

HawkEye’s Business

Founded in 2015, HawkEye has built a network of more than 30 satellites. These satellites track and analyse radio frequency activity worldwide. The company primarily works with the US government and its allies. Such work accounts for most of its business.

HawkEye has also been expanding its intelligence capabilities. In December 2025, the company acquired ISA to strengthen its expertise in signal processing and classified intelligence systems. This was also meant to deepen its relationship with US agencies.
